World day for Consecrated life – Archdiocese of Bouaké

Religious men and women of the archdiocese of Bouaké celebrated the world day of Consecrated life on the 2nd and 3rd of February respectively. The 2nd of February was a day of recollection, prayer and reflection well animated by Father Ernest a member of the Viatorian community in Bouaké.

In his reflection, he challenged all Religious to be authentic witness of the Gospel and to live out their vows fully. He further stated that Religious life cannot be lived only on the corridors of the community but must be a real encounter amongst its members; an encounter of prayer, sharing, forgiveness and reconciliation. The Bishop of the archdiocese who was present reminded the Religious men and women of their prophetic role in the society and the Church.

On the 3rd February, all the Religious of the archdiocese gathered together at one of the parishes in the diocese with the Bishop and celebrated mass with the lay faithful. In his homily, the main celebrant drawing from the day’s readings invited all presented to continue to witness Christ’s love. Two Religious shared their vocation story and their message was very clear especially to the parents. They invited the lay faithful to always encourage their children rather than discourage them when they harbor intentions of joining the Religious life. The ceremony ended with a meal at the Marist Brother’s Residence in Bouaké.
